Remember the good old days when something walked like a duck, swam like a duck, and quacked like a duck? We felt pretty darn good about calling it a duck.

You've probably heard that this past weekend there were two explosions in the New York City area. On Saturday night there was a bomb blast in the Chelsea District of Manhattan. Earlier in the day, there was a bombing in nearby Seaside Park, New Jersey.

The explosion in Manhattan on Saturday evening was the result of a pressure cooker IED similar to the one used in the Boston Marathon terrorist bombing. It was placed in an alley and crushed a nearby dumpster, threw it some 200 feet through the air, blew out storefront glass, and caused a lot of physical damage. 29 people were injured from glass and debris.

Shortly after the bomb blast in Chelsea, a second, undetonated bomb was found four blocks away. A handwritten Arabic note was found next to the bomb containing references to previous terrorists such as the Boston Marathon bombers.

A pipe bomb placed in a garbage can was quickly determined to be the culprit in New Jersey bombing. Two undetonated pipe bombs were found attached to the one that exploded. Just as in the Boston Marathon bombing, the New Jersey bombs had been deployed along a road race route with the race slated to start early on Saturday morning. The explosion did not injure anyone because there was no one on the race route - the start of the race was delayed due to a larger-than-expected number of registrants.

It was only by the grace of God, a good does of luck, and the amateurish skills of the bomber that no one was killed.

After the bombings, the entire Northeast liberal governmental community began playing their typical verbal gymnastics and refused to call the bombings what they obviously were - bombings caused by intentionally set explosive devices with a strong likelihood that Islamic terrorism was at the root of everything. The bombings walked like bombings, quacked like bombings, and swam like bombings but the liberal establishment just couldn't bring itself to call it what it was.

At the very least, within a matter of minutes after the bombings, anyone with half a brain could have analyzed the events, assessed what was known, and concluded that this was the work of intentionally set explosive devices.

Not New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. He immediately dismissed the notion that there had been bombings, defaulting to the pie-in-the-sky notion that a gas leak was the cause of the Chelsea explosion. He also emphasized that the event was not connected in any way to terrorism.

Seriously? A gas leak? And no connection to terrorism?

Yeah Bill, gas leaks frequently cause explosions outside, in alleys, and in the vicinity of dumpsters. And gas leaks always leave Arabic handwritten notes making reference to prior terrorist attacks.

Before de Blasio made his asinine remarks, it was patently obvious that the explosion in Chelsea was the result of a bomb. Billy subsequently, but begrudgingly, acknowledged that there had been a bombing but couldn't resist the temptation of adding more stupidity to his buffet of words by continuing to advance the mantra that the bombing was not believed to be connected to terrorism. He also dug himself deeper into his stupid hole by stating that there was no connection between the Chelsea bombing and the New Jersey bombing.

By weekend's end, de Blasio was proven to either be the biggest, most incompetent fool on planet Earth or a disingenuous hack. He was proven wrong on all accounts.

Donald Trump called it what it was as soon as his plane touched down on his way to a campaign event. So did Hillary, calling it a "bombing" when she was initially interviewed.  But no sooner had she called it what it was - a bombing - that she and the mainstream media went into change-the-narrative-for-Hillary spin control.

After Hillary let the horse out of the barn by calling it what it obviously was - bombings - Hillary and the media suddenly realized that she had just blown an opportunity to make it look like she was the steady-Eddie, calm, poised, patient leader she so desperately wants to be but isn't. How could she undo what she had done in reaching the same conclusion Trump had reached after being apprised of the facts? How could she walk back what she had already said?

The media jumped in and tried to save her by making it look like Donald Trump was the only one to  jump the gun and call it a bombing. It went on the Hillary offensive and tried to paint Trump as a knee jerk reacting buffoon for actually getting it right from the start. This was going on even though Hillary had initially put on her big girl pants and called it what it was too. Undeterred by reality, the media manipulated the situation for Hillary through editing and headlines.

CNN incredulously edited Hillary's press interview when she was first asked about the events and deleted Hillary's reference to a "bombing". Jake "I'm With Hillary" Tapper frothed at the mouth while airing the edited, bogus version. But, an ABC transcript of her press remarks caught the obvious manipulation and after CNN was exposed for playing fast and loose with its editing it had to eventually stop running the intentionally misleading version.

Not to be outdone by CNN in terms of pushing a concocted, disingenuous narrative, here's how the other mainstream media outlets covered the situation:

But I've gone down a rabbit hole. I did not intend to get into a discourse on media manipulation of the facts or its blatant attempts to shape stories instead of telling us what actually happens. I actually tipped my cap to Hillary for finally telling it like it was...until someone whispered in her ear that she shouldn't call it a bombing and that instead she should follow the liberal talking points and pretend like it was irresponsible to acknowledge the obvious.

What I really wanted to discuss in this post was the incredible inability of liberals and the media to call things what they are when it comes to terrorist acts and terrorists themselves. Exposing yet another instance of media manipulation and the media's attempts to create the stories it wants rather than the stories that exist was just a bonus.

Let's recap the Saturday events. The politically correct, leftist, liberal, governmental authorities had the benefit of one unexploded pressure cooker bomb from lower Manhattan, at least two unexploded pipe bombs from the Seaside Park bombing, and finally five additional undetonated, discarded bombs found in a garbage can in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The two Manhattan pressure cooker bombs were virtually identical in construction, i.e. flip cell phone detonators, pressure cookers packed with ball bearings and BB's, Christmas tree lights for wiring, and black powder as the explosive material.

The New Jersey pipe bomb was constructed with identical explosive and detonating materials. No information has been publicized yet as to the materials used in the discarded explosive devices found at the Jersey train station but five will get you ten there will be uncanny similarities.

I'm no rocket scientist, but from my perspective, using my God-given common sense, all of the above added up to a planned, coordinated terrorist attack. It walked like a duck, swam like a duck, quacked like a duck, etc.

But with everything pointing to what it was - an intentional bombing fueled by radical Islamic terrorism - the good (clueless) Mayor of New York refused to call it what it was.

Not to be outdone, as late as Sunday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo briefly pulled his head out of the sand to comment on the events and stated that there was no evidence of an international terrorism connection to the incident. I guess Andy-Doody forgot about the handwritten, Arabic note referring to the Boston Marathon bombing as well as all the other indicia of radical Islamic terrorism tied to the bombings. He went on to play the old Clinton "it depends on how you define what is is" game, begrudgingly acknowledging that the Chelsea bombing was a terrorist act but that it depended on how the word "terrorism" was defined. He finally admitted that, "A bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism."

Meanwhile, Hillary was out there telling anyone who would listen that it was irresponsible for anyone to jump to conclusions before all the facts were in.

Like she had already done.

In a moment of brief lucidity.

Yep, Hillary was for calling it a bomb before she was against calling it a bomb. Just like she's been for a lot of things before being against them.

But I digress yet again. Back to the point of all this which is to highlight the universal antipathy of  liberals in seeing and calling out the radical Islamist wolves in sheeps' clothing that exist all around us in the 21st Century world.

Did I mention that a 911 call was received by authorities shortly after the first blast? The caller said that he could see the aftermath of the first bombing and more were in store. Kind of makes the gas leak explanation as stupid as de Blasio obviously is.

Video surveillance cameras were immediately examined and they showed the same bearded man dragging a large, wheeled duffel bags and leaving objects in both of the bombing locations. And still de Blasio and his band of merry idiots refused to acknowledge the obvious.

Two men were dining at the Krush bar and grill on 32nd Street about a half-hour before the Chelsea explosion and saw what they described to authorities as an Arab-looking man who was carrying a suitcase and appeared out of place. This dovetails with the handwritten Arabic note left at the scene of the second pressure cooker bomb.

A three year old could connect theses dots. Bombing, check. Terrorist, check. Radical Islam, check. But still de Blasio, Cuomo, Hillary and others with their heads up their rear ends stuck to their narrative and refused to acknowledge that it was yet another act of Islamic terrorism.

And then their fantasy world collapsed. A fingerprint on the intact pressure cooker bomb established that Ahmad Khan Rahami was the bomber.

A quick check of Rahami's background found that he was a twenty-eight year old Afghan immigrant who had returned to Afghanistan several times over the past few years (for a year or more on occasion), and had gone to a Taliban controlled area in Pakistan recently as well as on other occasions over the past few years.

Rahami was spotted in Elizabeth NJ and when confronted by law enforcement he engaged in a shoot out with police.  He shot two police officers in the process, was wounded, and was taken into custody.

At long last, the de Blasio's of the world, Hillary, and the media, choked on what everyone else seemed to know - the events were a coordinated act of terrorism by an Islamic radical who wanted to kill Americans.

Duh.

And now for my final thought - and what really scares me.

This radical Islamic piece of cat puke was allowed to leave the U.S. several times, travel to Afghanistan and the Taliban controlled areas of Pakistan, and return to the U.S., with no red flags going up, no being put on a watch list, and absolutely no follow up of any kind by our administration's law enforcement, immigration and/or homeland security authorities.

This guy was able to breeze in and out of the U.S. several times and spend a lot of quality time in areas that are known to export radical Islamic terrorism, death, and destruction to America and to Americans. How many more guys just like him are also wandering around the U.S. waiting to blow us up?

Rahami was allowed to immigrate to the U.S. from a country that is ripe with hatred for the U.S. He was then allowed to travel unfettered from the U.S. to not only Afghanistan but also to Taliban areas of Pakistan several times, and for a year or more at a time, and no one within our government thought to take a closer look at this guy? And we're told by our administration that it's all good?

My friends, think about that when you go to sleep tonight. And then consider that on top of being completely on board with Obama's immigration policies that have gotten us to where we now are, Hillary wants to allow thousands and thousands of Syrian refugees to come into the U.S. and call this home. She has announced that if elected president, she will increase the number of Syrian refugees that we will take in by 550% over what the shortsighted Obama administration has agreed to accept.

Sweet dreams, America. You're going to need it because if Hillary is elected we're all going to have to sleep with one eye open. And that won't be enough.
