Help!!! I've fallen and I can't get up.
A few months ago I swore I would refrain from posting political stuff on Facebook. But I fell off the wagon. I saw a post from a family member who had gone to the dark side and was touting the likes of Gary Johnson for President. So I left a comment on his post. He replied, I replied, and on and on. The more I commented, the more entrenched each of us became and in the end neither one of us convinced the other about anything.
But I was fired up. With the recent Islamic terrorist attacks, the political season in full swing, and no sports to photograph and occupy my spare time until September, I started reading others' political Facebook posts and began responding. Soon afterwards, I was adding my own political posts on Facebook...lots of them.
And then it dawned on me (yet again)...why would anyone care what I think about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, gun control, abortion, Islamic terrorists, yadda yadda yadda? And more importantly, why was I mucking up my social media page, something I started years ago to share my photography, abuse my Cousin Joe, and keep up with the adventures of my family?
I found a Facebook Anonymous (FA) meeting and got a sponsor. I'm in recovery now. One of the things I have to do is make amends. So, here goes.
Hi, I'm Mike and I'm a Political Facebook Poster. It's been one day since my last political post. I've realized yet again that Facebook is not the place to vent my thoughts about Liberals, President Obama, Hillary Clinton, ISIS, or anyone/anything else that gives me heartburn.
But I have a need to vent. So, instead of butchering my Facebook page with political commentary, I will use my Facebook page for what I originally intended - sharing my photography images; seeing what the family is up to; and reading about my friends' dogs, moves, vacations, kids, etc. If I add something to my photography blog, I'll let you know. But no more political rants. Cross my heart. I won't say hope to die because I've been there, done that and it was no fun.

Knowing that I must vent, like when John Kerry recently said that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big of a threat to life as ISIS (seriously, he just said this on Friday while in Vienna), I will just sit down and express my thoughts in a new Blog I've created - this Blog - Postcards From The Right.
This will be my medium for thoughts, ideas, commentary, and opinions on what's transpiring in the world as I see it, and anything else that makes my blood pressure rise. I'll copy/paste the link to the Blog on Facebook when I add a new post in case any of you want to read what I have to say but this way you won't have to be bored/annoyed/irritated by my political diatribes within the confines of Facebook.
I may write a blog post once a week, it may be less frequent, it may be more frequent. I don't know. But when something is on my mind, I'll have a way to get it off my chest - and not on Facebook.

Once again, my apologies to my Facebook friends. A new chapter begins. The first post for the Blog is almost finished so stay tuned, if you care. If not, we can still be friends.
Peace, out.

Keep posting, Mike. We're "right" together on this.
