Obama Releases 15 More Terrorists From GITMO. Why Doesn't Anyone Question Hillary Clinton About Her Support For Freeing Terrorists Who Will Kill Us?

Despite the fact that majority of Americas oppose closing the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp (or GITMO), President Obama just released 15 additional detainees. The detainees will be transferred to the United Arab Emirates and this release constitutes the single largest release of GITMO detainees to date. The 15 detainees include twelve Yemenis and three Afghans.

A recent Gallup poll found that 56% of Americans oppose the release of detainees and the closing of Guantanamo. Only 40% of Americans support it. Another poll indicated that 66% of Americans are against closing Guantanamo and only 29% support it.

One notable supporter of Obama's plan to shutter GITMO is Hillary Clinton. In February of this year she admitted that she backed Obama’s effort to close GITMO. “I’ve been on record being in favor of closing Guantanamo for a long time,” Clinton said when pressed during an interview.

In January of 2013, she even sent Obama a Memorandum confirming her support for his policy on GITMO.

But it's not something she mentions while campaigning. In fact, it's something she'd prefer not to talk about because she knows how unpopular her position is. You would think that during the current Presidential campaign and the release of fifteen GITMO detainees there would be some mention of what Hillary thinks about the release. Trump makes no secret about his opposition to releases and shutting GITMO down. But do you think the media reports on Hillary's unpopular view?

Hah.

As Obama's second (and final) term in office comes closer and closer to ending, he has been on a mission to do anything and everything he can to empty the GITMO facility. This, despite knowing that at least 30% of the released detainees have returned to terrorist activity. The number is likely much higher, but We The People will never really know how many detainees have wreaked havoc, death, and destruction since their release. That's because this information is kept from us.

The Obama administration refuses to release the list of former detainees who have returned to the fight or how many Americans they have killed. The only reason we know that many of the released detainees have resumed terrorist activity is because WikiLeaks posted secret 2008 detainee assessments by the Joint Task Force Guantanamo that included information about the released detainee's activities after their release. We can only speculate as to what the real numbers are in terms of detainees returning to their terrorist ways as of 2016.

What we do know based on the Wikileaks disclosure is that the Obama administration is aware that at least 12 detainees previously released from GITMO have launched attacks against U.S. or allied forces in Afghanistan, killing about a half-dozen Americans. But there have been many, many more deaths that have resulted. We just don't have confirmation that the Obama administration has the knowledge.

Here is what the Joint Task Force Guantanamo had to say in 2008 about some the detainees that have been released by Obama in the past:
  • All former Al Qaeda members were just as committed in 2008 as when they joined Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
  • Hanna Al-Shaykh was a hardened member of al Qaeda who wants to kill. “Detainee has threatened to kill all Americans and identified [bin Laden] as his brother in arms. Detainee was recruited through a known al Qaeda facilitation network and he was identified as a suicide operative. Detainee’s threats to kill U.S. personnel and his refusal to truthfully answer questions indicate his continuing support to extremism...Such threats include the statement that he will kill all Americans and specific threats to cut off the head of guard personnel and his statement, ‘I will kill you, Captain, and I will take your religion away from you.’"
  • Abu Bakr Ibn Ali Muhammad Al Ahdaf Take a peek at his assessment:
Abu Bakr Ibn Ali Muhammad Al Ahdaf's Detainee Assessment
Other parts of it state, “Detainee identified himself as a willing terrorist against the U.S. and acknowledged he was a member of a terrorist support entity in Yemen.” Al-Ahdal fought with al Qaeda in northern Afghanistan and in Tora Bora, one of the last major battles of the 2001 U.S. invasion during which bin Laden slipped away. He was a member of bin Laden’s 55th Arab Brigade that formed an alliance with the Taliban in Afghanistan, helping them to stay in power. After Al Ahdal's release from GITMO, he was killed in 2011 during a raid in Pakistan by U.S. Navy SEALs.
Three other inmates released to Oman were also assessed to be too high a threat risk by the Joint Task Force to be released. That didn't stop Obama.
  • Adham Mohamed Ali Awad - An al Qaeda member, Awad made statements “indicating a HIGH probability for recidivist activities including suicide attack against large numbers of both military and civilian population.”
  • Samir Naji al-Hasan Muqbil, who was part of bin Laden’s personal security detail.
  • Fahmi Abdallah Ahmad Ubadi al-Tulaqi, both a member of al Qaeda and the Taliban and fought in bin Laden’s Arab brigade. He was a member of a Pakistani terror group committed to building bombs to kill American troops.
Aside from the Wikileaks disclosure that shed light into just how absurd it has been to release detainees from GITMO, in March of this year, a senior Pentagon official finally admitted to Congress that released GITMO detainees were responsible for the deaths of Americans overseas. Some of the deaths involved military personnel, but not all. At least one death involved an American civilian, a female aid worker who was brutally killed in Afghanistan in 2008.

Pentagon officials who have spoken on the condition of anonymity have declined to give an exact number for Americans killed or wounded in the attacks, saying the figure is classified.

It is inconceivable that Obama continues to put American lives in peril by doubling down on his effort to hang a "Closed" sign on the gates of Guantanamo. Of greater concern is that Hillary Clinton is on board with it. Time after time the detainees that have been released have rejoined the fight against us.

Like Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, who was assessed by our military as being a medium risk of returning to the fight. Rasoul pretended to be a low-ranking nobody who told the Task Force he just wanted to go home to his family. He said that he had  never been America’s enemy and never intend to be.

That sob story really tugged at the heartstrings of the Obama administration. They couldn't wait to send him home. It was only after his release that the incompetent boobs found out how they had been duped. Rasoul turned out to be Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir, a senior Taliban leader. As soon as dude set foot back in Afghanistan, he became the Taliban’s Surge Commander and led the fight against our troops trying to deny the Taliban safe haven in southern Afghanistan. After his great success in thwarting Obama's surge, Rasoul/Zakir was made the Taliban’s Chief Military Commander.

Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir
In his various positions after returning to Afghanistan, Zakir was directly responsible for the deaths of countless Americans, coalition personnel, and Afghan forces. One of his specialties was instituting a campaign of sophisticated roadside bombings that killed and maimed countless American, British, and Afghan forces along with Afghan civilians. He is still a member of the Taliban Executive Council today.

And we had him locked away where he could do no harm. And Obama let him go.

Another example of the insanity in releasing GITMO detainees is Ibrahim al Qosi, a former aide to Osama bin Laden who was sent to Guantanamo in 2002 and released by Obama in 2012. Al Qosi resurfaced as a senior member of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the group’s most dangerous branch. Secretary of State John Kerry, the one and only legend-in-his-own-mind, was asked about al Qosi’s return to terrorism during a recent Senate hearing. Kerry responded, "He’s not supposed to be doing that."

That's it? "He’s not supposed to be doing that." Is that not the most asinine response imaginable?

But Obama presses on. And Hillary is completely on board.

The Fab 15 just released from GITMO
With regard to the most recent release of detainees, Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H released unclassified files on some of the remaining detainees and said that the fifteen just released are "...among the worst terrorists." According to Ayotte, the fifteen include terrorists, "...who fought on the frontline against U.S. and coalition forces, targeted U.S. personnel with explosives, served as bin Laden bodyguards, and acted as al Qaeda IED experts."

What lies ahead? The status of thirty two detainees will have their cases heard by the board in the near future. The fifteen just-released detainees were among thirty four already slated for transfer, so expect some nineteen more detainees to be released soon. That will leave the very worst of the very worst at GITMO. We're talking some really, really bad people. And because of U.S. laws, they cannot be brought to facilities in the U.S.

That means that either Obama will have to do anything and everything he can to move them to another country. But nobody else wants them, at least no country with any semblance of concern for its citizens. So either Obama will have to transfer them to countries that don't give two hoots about our security (and we'll be reading about the death and destruction they cause shortly after their release), or the decision as to what to do with them will fall on our next President.

You know where Hillary stands on the issue and her views on national security, ISIS, and terrorism. She wants GITMO emptied just as much as Obama. Do you really want her to be responsible for making this call?
