If you know me, it should come as no surprise that I am a staunch conservative. The last thing I want is an extension of President Obama's economic, social, or national security policies via a Hillary Clinton presidency. I believe with all my heart that Hillary Clinton is a deceitful, dangerous individual who should never get within a mile of the Presidency. That is why I hoped and prayed that when all the dust settled after the Republican primaries, anyone (short of Ted Cruz) would rise above the scorched earth and take Donald Trump down.
But it was not to be. Donald, you rose from the ashes as the winner. And now we're stuck with you, warts and all. But you're making it hard, Donald. You're making it oh so hard to defend some of the things you do.
Donnie, buddy, you have got to be got to be the stupidest, densest, most stubborn smart person in the world. Hillary Clinton is doing her best to wrest the title away from you but you just won't let her. I hate to say this about you since I am going to vote for you in November but I'll be doing so while throwing up a little bit in my mouth.
Let me recap the last few days. On Sunday, Hillary Clinton lobbed you a softball the size of Jupiter. She was interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday and was confronted with statements made by FBI Director James Comey, who unequivocally said that she lied to the American people when she denied emailing classified material.
You could hear Chris Wallace's jaw drop onto the floor when she denied that Comey said any such thing. She then went off on an inane attempt to rewrite history with canned talking points that have been repudiated by the emails themselves.
And what do you do, Donald? You decides to wage a battle of words with Ghazala and Khizr Khan, the grieving mother and father of a Marine hero who sacrificed his life in Iraq while serving his country. You might as well have flushed an American flag down a toilet on national TV.
But you didn't stop there. You dug yourself deeper and deeper with incessant, asinine Tweets.
The Khans attended the Democratic Convention and in a speech Mr. Khan chastised Trump's proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States as unconstitutional. He pulled a copy of the Constitution from his breast pocket and questioned if Trump had ever read it. Finally, he said that Trump had "...sacrificed nothing and no one."
OK, so Khan didn't accurately present your position on Muslim immigration, Donald. But instead of looking the other way, you took offense and said that "while I feel deeply for the loss of his son, Mr. Khan who has never met me, has no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution, which is false, and say many other inaccurate things."
Then you criticized Ghazala Khan, Captain Khan's mother, by pointing out that she had silently stood by her husband as he gave his speech. You suggested that she wasn't allowed to speak because she was Muslim.
Why Clinton continues to deny reality, especially when what she says is irrefutably proven to be a lie, is beyond me. But she seemingly can't force herself to tell the truth and any politician worth his or her salt would have have been all over Clinton's comments like white on rice.
But you didn't stop there. You dug yourself deeper and deeper with incessant, asinine Tweets.
For those who don't know who is at the heart of this brouhaha, in 2004, Captain Humayun Khan (USMC) deployed to Iraq even though he had already finished his tour of duty. On June 8th, a suspicious vehicle approached the gate of his compound at high speed. Khan told his men to stay back and stepped towards the car. The car's IED detonated before reaching the gate killing Khan. No harm came to Khan's men or those in the mess hall near the gate where hundreds of soldiers were having breakfast.
Khan was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his unselfish act of heroism.

And you Tweeted. You bombastic, spray tanned imbecile. You took to Twitter. It was almost as if you were going out of your way to look for piles of doo doo in which to step.
Dude, you are dumber than dirt. You're stupider than a box of rocks. The porch light is on but nobody's home. You're crass, heartless, obtuse, tactless, unfeeling, callous, and insensitive. You're a few Brady's short of a Bunch. Have I made myself clear?
I know why your head exploded. In his speech at the DNC, Mr. Khan hit you where it hurts the most. You have a massive inferiority complex because of your having been the product of privilege. You want the world to think that you're this tough, self made man, but in reality, deep down, you know you're a rich boy who had everything handed to him. And you hate it when someone calls you out on it.
Khan hit that nerve. He said you have never sacrificed anything. He said you used deferments to avoid being drafted or serving in Vietnam. He questioned your manhood and you can't stand it when someone does that.
They're a gold star family, you pompous gas bag. They're not a silver spoon family like you and yours. How dare you demonize the mother and father of a man who not only served our country, he made the ultimate sacrifice? This isn't about you, or whether you've read the constitution, or anything else Mr. Khan said during his speech at the Democratic convention trying to bait you. This is about a man and his wife losing their son and never, ever being able to hug him. They will never see him marry or have his own children. They have earned the privilege of saying anything they want, to anyone they want, anytime they want. Savvy?
I had a Blog post teed up for today dealing with the DNC and the culture of corruption exposed by last week's Wikileaks email dump...until I saw the Trump train wreck that you've caused. That post can wait. I needed to Trump a Trump.

In closing, Donnie Boy, don't be like Hillary. Learn from this and move forward. Be the bigger man for once. Get on your knees and give the Khans the sincere, heartfelt apology they deserve. Beg their forgiveness. Admit that what you said was the epitome of stupidity and that you now recognize how inappropriate your conduct was.
You'll be a better person for it. Americans are the most forgiving people on earth. If you humble yourself and say you're sorry to the Khans, you will make it much easier for people to view you as someone worthy of their vote.
And please count to ten from now on before reaching for your iPhone. For God's sake stop being such a doofus.

Well said, Mike. As I like to say, when criticized, Trump's knee-jerk reaction is to be a jerk. God help us.
ReplyDeleteMercy Mike - when you get a pixx on you don't hold much back. But, then you have every right to say what you did in my opinion. When one has a discussion with the folks who support that lying, pathetic has-been (or at least should be a has-been, how do you defend Donnie Boy when he does such ill-thought out, stupid, arrogant, boneheaded, inexcusable, foolish, child-like (sorry about that, children), plain in poor taste diatribes? I can't speak for the Gold Star parents, but as a Vietnam Veteran I can tell you his comments shame me and brings into question how I could possibly vote for him (in spite of how much I detest Hillary). To have any hope of electing The Donald, someone in the Republican camp need to break his iPhone and put a little duck tape over his mouth. Sigh, this election just gets stupider by the day.
ReplyDeleteThe Supreme Court. That's it for me in a nutshell. If the Court wasn't on the line I would not vote for him. But if she's President, she will likely appoint at least 2 Justices in the first term. That will determine judicial opinions of the next 20-30 years. That's too much to let slide.
